I just got some mail from a dj/program-service manager, to whom I sent mail back in August. I think I'm finally getting a job! Well students in Finland do get subvention from state, but any extra money is welcome because you really can't consider a student's life an one worth to be proud about. You have no money to go to the movies. No money for drinks, clubbing etc. or buying records...being a wannabe house DJ, I must have money for buying records. US imports are worthy indeed...

This week has been the week of tiredness for me. on tuesday i played at oktoberfest at yo-talo (student house/hall) in tampere. i really had zero interest on writing my blog nor doing anything else in last few weeks. somehow i still manged to go to club telex where imatran voima and sami koivikko were performing live. both were great.
the only thing about this oktoberfest that really annoyed me was the way some people kept telling me what music to play! dammit, i've been spinning my cds and twelves at bars for over a year (almost) every weekend and i know what and when to play. if the crowd isn't happy it's my fault and it's time to change direction, but i kept the crowd happy, didn't i.
i got overall good and positive feedback. :D

The car is working and I'll get to Hyvinkää! As we say: "Jippii!" Don't know is it good thing though...

I was supposed to get to Hyvinkää with my little sister, but alas the car wouldn't start she didn't even make it to Tampere. She is living in Ikaalinen. So I had all my plans made up considering being in Hyvinkää. I was shocked. What was I supposed to be doing? I didn't want to go to a bar or a club alone. I danced so much last thursday that I didn't even want to go dancing even though there were many interesting club nights on friday...
So, we'll see what happens today. If I have the chance I'll drive to Hyvinkää but if I don't I'll go to yo-talo and shake my booty.

I decided to take a different kind of approach to this blog. I'll start writing in other languages as addition to English. I got that idea just yesterday. So the next time I'll propably write in German. Is it a bad idea? Does anybody read this?
Today I had only one lesson. That was one hour Schreibübungen (=writing excercises). After that I wrote a letter (ger. Brief, m), that was supposed to have some 250 words - I ended up with having 269 words which is within the tolerance lines. It's supposed to be returned by 17:00 (again 5 pm) tomorrow.
I feel tired. It's about 12:15 (not 00:15) now and I'll go eating because my stomach is rumbling (can I actually say "rumbling"?)...

Today.
Today I had only one complete lesson. That was writing in German and stuff. ;) We were supposed to have listening comprehension for two hours, well sometimes it can all gowrong around here. The class room was double booked, there were too many pupils, sorry, students anyway and the lecturer was forced to split the original group of students in two and to create new group for which she'll book a new room. That's life. Nothing really goes the way we've planned.
What I still need to do is apply for new short-term drivers licence, since my old one expired the week before last week. I'll have some entry-level tests to participate to at 16:00 (that's 4 pm for those of you living in US). I think it was about listening comprehension but I'm not quite sure.
Yesterday I got my Opintotuki , that's money from the State for students, I think subvention was the right word, wasn't it?

So, I decided to start writing my own blog - in English. Here it is...

Today I've had my first "real" lesson in the University of Tampere. My aim is to learn German and to become a teacher.

Tomorrow I'll get a pair of Technics SL-1200 Mk2 turntables and a scruffy Gemini disco mixer to my appartment, which I share with a guy called Mika. Actually the turntables and the mixer aren't mine they are my friend's uncle's. Complicated innit? So it's already obvious that I deejay as hobby? Well I've done it professionaly too: In pubs, small in-the-middle-of-nowhere-venues and such. But it's been just about playing pop, rock and mainstream dance. My real passion lies within house music and electro (no clash in there).

And all that gear I'll be needing to make a promo-mix and to give some extra vibe to my "look my friend: here I live" kind of party.
